Lots of running Santas

We have successfully survived the flight and are very slowly getting over jetlag – though Katrine and Gregor woke up about 4 this morning!

Today we went to watch my sister-in-law take part in the RNLI Santa fun run down at Southsea. Yesterday was a typical British winter’s day – grey and overcast and a little bit blugh, so I was not looking forward to an hour or more of standing around on the prom getting cold. However, the weather gods were kind to us as the sun came out, meaning that for parts of the day I was actually warm and even took my coat off.

We were a few minutes late and missed the start but soon found a good viewing point;

Here is our runner, on the return leg;

Looking a bit self conscious due to our encouraging whooping. Her dog managed the first 5K but was very grateful to be handed over and allowed to play in the sea, one very happy dog;

There was a drum band playing at the finish line with some families reaching the finish together.

Here is Lynsay, with Katrine, at the finish;

I wonder what the collective noun for a group of Santas is?
