Door-to-door bake sale

Over the last few weeks Katrine and Gregor and a couple of their friends have been planning a bake sale, on the school bus (one advantage of the long journey – they have had plenty of time to plot).

This has been entirely their own efforts – the mums only helped out with the email; as the building is pretty big and we didn’t want to make any one feel obligated we emailed first and only called at people who had agreed in advance. They chose two charities: WWF (the world wide fun for nature – not wrestling!) and UNICEF, as they love animals and also wanted to help children less fortunate than themselves.

IMG_0441 IMG_0445Katrine made anzac biscuits (a traditional Australian biscuit made from oats and coconuts) and Gregor made white chocolate and cranberry cookies. They did everything themselves, the only bit I helped with was the oven.

We met up with everybody on level 5 and we had quite a stack of baked goodies.

IMG_1606We then went door-to-door round the building, due to extreme kindness of Skyrex residents they raised 276,000 won (£160).

IMG_0452They are going to adopt the snow pack from WWF  (they have planned to share the magazine out so they all get to read them) and give the remainder in cash to UNICEF collections.

Very proud of all of them for their thoughtfulness, planning and execution – plus I got loads of yummy food!
