UP square has opened

IMG_0700After quite a bit of confusion and delays over the opening date the new UP Square mall has finally opened. We have been able to watch it’s progress from the back windows and on Monday I got to go on in and explore.

IMG_0683It isn’t fully open – there is still quite a lot of work going on but you can see what will be there and it looks good so far.

H&M takes pride of place, with a corner site over 3 floors. This has caused quite a lot of excitement as before you had to head to Shinsesgae over in Busan. Now we can get clothes to western tastes and fittings (boobs and bum are the tricky bits!) IMG_0684The only problem is the children’s clothes only go unto age 8. As Katrine is nearly 9 there is nothing for her. I got some cute tops for Gregor though.

There is also a nice looking Uniqlo, which is not yet open but as they are stocking the shelves it should be soon. I will IMG_0693check it out once it is open.

Working up the escalators there are lots of very interesting restaurants, a Japanese place, pizza, desert cafe…Only TGI Friday is open now but the rest look very close and certainly worth checking out. I am looking forward to trying Mr & IMG_0696Mrs Potato.

Plus a whole store full of jelly beans and other sweets! I might not let the kids know that this is just across the road.

There is also a Park Jun hairdressers. As I had time to kill and was in desperate need of a haircut I tried it out, and was very pleased with the results. IMG_0697Ailean, my stylist, spoke very good English and had done some training in London so understood about foreigner’s thin and curly hair. I am going to take the kids there tomorrow and see how they get on as well.

Moving up the building you get to the other exiting feature – the new 4D imax cinema. IMG_0699Unfortunately the what’s on guide is all in Korean, but that is what google transate is for. Ironman 3 is currently playing in both the 4D and the 3D imax. Might just go to see what it is like in 4D.

Another  interesting feature that is not yet opened is there will be a spa, on floors B1, 1, 2 and 3. IMG_0691There wasn’t a sign that said when it will open or any where you could see how it is progressing as part of the mall is still fenced off. I haven’t been to a Korean spa yet so I’m looking forward to experiencing that soon.

My hair is pretty much the same, only a tad shorter. Gregor refused to have his photos taken! There are some photos of Katrine’s on Facebook – they put curls in her hair – she loved it!

The SPA on the signs in UpSquare means designer clothes on that floor. There will be no actual spa.
