Another theme park: Universal Studios, Osaka

Katrine and Gregor could not wait and Universal Studios was the very first thing we had to do in Osaka. The park opened at ten and we were there at ten to, having brought tickets already, and joined our first queue of the day.

We have learned from previous visit to theme parks to head to the one ride you really want to do straight away, which was Spider-Man, a 3D car ride, where it is very hard to tell which parts are set and which video footage. Good ride, though we couldn’t really follow the story as it was in Japanese (common problem throughout the day, so we gave the shows a miss).

I spotted some Sesame Street characters and wanted a photo with The Count, Katrine and Gregor had no clue who he is but indulged their mother.

We do not know who the Pink Person is, but she liked the camera! (I have been told via Facebook that she is called Ally)

After this we worked our way round the park in a clockwise direction and got to go on most of the rides, though Katrine and Gregor are too small for the main roller-coaster so we had to skip that one. The queues weren’t too bad, except for the Jurassic Park water ride. Which was very hot and frustrating.

My favourite ride was Space Fantasy, which is a spinning inside roller-coaster, which made Richard feel a bit queasy.

We eventually left the park just after 5, 7 hours was enough for everybody.
